Obtaining a learner’s permit and a driver’s license costs

The cost to obtain a Class M or MJ driver’s license or to upgrade your current license to a Class M or MJ license can range from $21 to $120. You must apply before we can determine your exact charge.
Can I have my driver’s license payments reimbursed?
If you meet the requirements, you may be eligible for a partial refund of the 8-year license price. The most you can get is 50% (four years) of the initial driver’s license fee for eight years. Application or document fees are not included in the partial reimbursement.
A partial refund may be available to you if your driver’s license is.
Was issued with an 8-year validity period, surrendered to us or another state within the first four of those eight years, and was not suspended or revoked at the time of surrender or turned into a non-driver ID card.
Applying for a refund requires
